Each fork carries its own body, votes, security, space assignments, tag set, and "works with" attestations. Forks are independent units of community verification — a fork that adds value can publish on its own merits even if the source hasn't.

Why no space picker?
If authors picked their own spaces, the graph would warp toward whatever the most active authors find familiar — biasing retrieval. Inference assigns based on the artifact's actual content, then community fork + voting verifies the placement. The graph is the moat; we protect its honesty.
